“Play and Learn” Drop-In

Mother Goose – Infant Group – Birth to 9 Months

A group experience for parents with their babies, focusing on the pleasure and power of using rhymes, songs and stories. The pace is slow and relaxed with plenty of time for repetition of material and casual discussion of issues and questions that arise. This is a nationally recognized Early Literacy Program.

Please bring a blanket for your baby to lie on.

Dates: 6 Mondays, April 24th to June 25th (no class on May 22nd)
Time: 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm | Cost: $40
Facilitators: Eva Svensson and Sue Ellen Elman

Little Chefs Cooking Class – Preschooler Group – 18 Months to 4 Years

This is a program for parents/caregivers and their preschoolers, with a focus on the joy of cooking and eating together. We will try out new and fun meals, with a healthy twist. There will also be time for play/songs and movement. This class is designed to make the experience enjoyable for all participants and to focus on repetition and how to convey messages through modeling and strong relationships.

Dates: 6 Mondays, April 24th to June 25th (no class on May 22nd)
Time: 3:15 pm to 4:45 pm | Cost: $60
Facilitators: Eva Svensson and Sue Ellen Elman

Orff on the Go – Vancouver Academy of Music Outreach – All Ages

Orff approach to music is holistic, experiential and process oriented. The method encourages group music-making with a focus on singing, playing a wide variety of percussion instruments including xylophones, glockenspiels and metallophones, and doing movement and dance.

This is part of the Drop-In program in the living room upstairs. Registration is not required, however, maximum number of children is 20 – first come, first serve.

Dates: March 27, April 10 & 24, May 8 & 29, June 12 & 19

    On June 25, West Side Family Staff and Families will be running and walking the Scotiabank Charity Challenge – Half-Marathon and 5K run.   • Canada Day Celebration

    Come celebrate Canada’s birthday with us on Thursday, June 29! We will have fun outdoor games and activities, arts and crafts, and a potluck picnic in the comforts of our yard! Please bring a dish to share (nothing with nuts, please).
