In 1993, the Vancouver Sun published an honest portrayal of family life at the time, and kindly highlighted the need for Family Places for young families across Vancouver. The full-page feature was written by the late Alicia Priest, an esteemed journalist, and Family Place was described as a “lifeline of support” by one mother. We love that the article highlighted the importance of the relaxed, creative play drop-in centres to help alleviate loneliness in caregivers and socialize young children.
